Le 17 mars je remontais donc vers le plateau pour y remplir ma mission : tenir. Tenir devant la puissance de l\u2019arm\u00e9e allemande qui chaque jour progressait un peu plus. Tenir le moral de mes hommes, qui, sur les plus lointains versants, voyaient leur chaumi\u00e8re briller dans les nuits froides. Tenir ma promesse aussi, pour la France vivre libre ou mourir. Je savais que mes chances de redescendre en vie un jour du plateau \u00e9taient presque nulles. Mais je savais aussi que mes maquisards avaient besoin d\u2019un alpin pour \u00eatre \u00e0 leur t\u00eate.
